Summer Camps
Summer Camps at Magnolia
Music. Friendship. Imagination.
Magnolia camps are returning this summer with weekly music programs running throughout June and July and into early August. Camp days are filled with singing, instrument exploration, songwriting play, movement, outdoor time near the Morcom Rose Garden, and creative art projects.
No experience is required for our general camps—just curiosity and enthusiasm.
Groups are shaped around age and experience to keep learning balanced, supportive, and fun. Older campers often help lead, and our teen counselors are a joyful part of the Magnolia community.
Camp hours: 9:00am–1:00pm
Optional extended day: 1:00–3:00pm (relaxed hang + games + crafts + supervised downtime)
Families pack snacks + lunch, and we take advantage of our sunny neighborhood whenever we can.
Cost: Ranges from $495-$525 for 9-1 and an additional $200/week for extended care til 3. '

Buds is a warm, playful camp designed for younger campers to learn the magic of making music with others through singing, instruments, and creative play. Campers will build confidence, try new things, and make real musical memories with new friends.
Throughout the week, we’ll explore:
Singing (campfire songs, rounds, partner songs, and kid-friendly pop songs)
Ukulele + beginner guitar/piano exploration (with plenty of support)
Egg shakers, hand percussion, and glockenspiel
Songwriting (playful group writing and silly/sweet lyric ideas)
Music games + movement (rhythm games, listening games, and dance breaks)
Camp may also include crafts, outdoor “reset” breaks, and creative projects like mini music videos—depending on the group and the flow of the week.
At the end of camp, families are invited to a short and joyful end-of-week performance, where campers get to share a few songs they’ve learned (and possibly an original song too!)

Blooms is our camp for older elementary kids who are ready to go deeper—learning songs, building confidence, and preparing for a real end-of-week show.
Throughout the week, campers will collaborate through singing, instruments, and creative teamwork. We’ll work toward a short performance for families in Magnolia’s Grand Room, where campers get to share what they’ve learned in a supportive, celebratory setting.
Campers will explore:
Singing (campfire songs, rounds, harmonies, and kid-friendly pop songs)
Ukulele + beginner guitar/piano (with coaching and rotation options)
Egg shakers, hand percussion, and glockenspiel
Songwriting (small-group writing and creative lyric + melody ideas)
Music games + movement (rhythm challenges, listening games, and dance breaks)
Depending on the group and the flow of the week, camp may also include crafts, simple choreography, and creative projects like mini music videos.
At the end of camp, families are invited to a final performance. The emphasis is on teamwork, growth, and the joy of performing—not perfection.

This one-week camp is for kids who love music and want to spend the week doing what real songwriters do: writing, experimenting, collaborating, and finishing original songs.
Campers will explore lyric writing, melody, chords, and song structure through playful prompts, group sharing, and lots of creative momentum. Some campers will arrive with notebooks full of ideas, while others are just beginning to explore songwriting — either way, they’ll leave with new tools, confidence, and at least one song in progress (and often more than one).
Throughout the week, campers will work on:
lyric writing and storytelling
melody + phrasing (finding a hook that sticks)
chord progressions and song form
arranging ideas for performance
supportive feedback and creative sharing
revising, strengthening, and finishing songs
This camp moves quickly and works best for kids with a bit of instrument experience. Campers should be able to play at least four chords on guitar, ukulele, or piano, and be ready to sing and try ideas out loud in a small group.
Depending on the group, campers may collaborate on a co-written song, experiment with simple harmony, and record rough “demo” versions of their songs to take home.
At the end of the week, families are invited to a casual end-of-camp share, where campers can perform an original song (or excerpt) in a supportive, low-pressure setting.

Something mysterious is happening at Magnolia… and it’s up to our campers to solve the case — through music.
In this high-energy, story-driven camp, kids will collaborate to create an original 5-ish minute musical mystery movie from scratch. Think silly detective vibes (not scary), fun characters, plot twists, and original songs — all captured on video by the end of the week.
Campers will work as a creative team to build the story, write music, rehearse scenes, and bring everything to life on camera through singing, instruments, movement, and plenty of imagination.
Throughout the week, campers may explore:
songwriting + lyric writing
scene-building + character choices
singing (ensemble + optional solo moments)
ukulele/guitar/piano support (with coaching, depending on camper experience)
rhythm + groove using simple percussion
staging, movement, and performance choices for the camera
Camp may also include props/costumes, music games, group improvisation, and mini “detective missions” that help shape the story as it unfolds.
At the end of the week, families are invited to a movie screening at Magnolia, where we’ll premiere the finished mystery musical film and celebrate what the campers created together.
Come ready to make music, make friends, and maybe solve a mystery.
