We Are Leaves + Tiny Fires (Joe Sikelianos & Kat White)
Live at Magnolia Music School
Saturday, May 9
Doors at 7:30pm · Show at 8:00pm
3929 Grand Ave, Oakland

We Are Leaves are an East Bay indie pop band featuring violin, bass, drums, guitar, and vocal harmonies. Their sound blends hopeful despair with dreamy optimism, weaving together original songs and an eclectic mix of indie rock and country covers. The band is fronted by a Magnolia parent, making this a special community show.
Opening the evening are Tiny Fires, an Oakland-based indie-folk duo made up of Joe Sikelianos and Kat White. Their music combines textured guitars, rich harmonies, and storytelling that moves between the intimate and the playful. Kat is the founder of Magnolia Music School and creator of the children’s album In the Eye of the Owl. Joe, a professional arborist and songwriter, released his debut album Our Kind of Beast in 2023. These days, Tiny Fires mostly perform for an audience of cats — but they’re very happy to share their music with you, too.
